Sharing the
Burden of
Contraception

Contraception has largely been a woman’s responsibility, with men having few options beyond condoms or vasectomy. As shared birth control responsibility gains traction, demand for hormone-free, long-term, and reversible male contraception is growing –

17M men are looking for contraception that fits their lifestyle and relationship. The growing demand creates a huge market opportunity for innovative solutions such as Proventis.

ProventisTM Solution

The Safe & Reliable In-Office Solution

Minimally invasive male contraception in less than 20 minutes. Proventis develops the first reversible, long-term and reliable contraceptive device for men.

Our Technology

The Proventis implant is inserted into the vas deferens using an approach similar to the gold-standard Non-Scalpel Vasectomy (NSV) technique. It blocks sperm flow from reaching the urethra for effective contraception and can be easily unplugged to restore fertility on demand. Both implantation and reversal are minimally invasive and performed by a urologist under local anesthesia in under 20 minutes.

01

Implant is Inserted

Proventis implant is inserted into each of the two vas deferens, using an approach similar to the gold-standard Non-Scalpel Vasectomy (NSV) technique. The procedure is performed by a urologist under local anesthesia in less than 20 minutes.

02

Implant blocks sperm flow

The implant serves as a plug that prevents sperm flow from the testicle to the urethra. The user is able to ejaculate as always, but the ejaculation does not contain sperm. Sperm cells are degraded and naturally absorbed.

03

Implant is opened

Upon user request, the physician opens the implant is a minimally invasive manner, under local anesthesia.
04

Sperm flows through the implant

As the implant becomes unplugged, sperm flow is regained. The ejaculate contains sperm cells, so fertility is restored.
